An ignition interlock device is a state-of-the-art breath alcohol monitoring device that integrates a fuel cell based Breathalyzer with your vehicle’s ignition system. When a breath sample is submitted, Intoxalock tests the sample for the presence of alcohol. Using a fuel cell technology developed by Intoxalock for the ignition interlock industry, the device will display the breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) of the sample on the LED screen.* If the BrAC is below the legal standard for your state, the vehicle will start. If a violation is detected, the vehicle will not start until a safe sample has been provided.
